Michael glowered at Gale even though nothing had actually happened. He was starting to get the feeling that he wasn't really in much danger from Vayu (apart from, you know, the whole hunger thing). It was like it had adopted him as its pet human or something. Which... was something about which Michael wasn't quite sure how he felt. Not that he'd be dropping his guard around it anytime soon, but maybe it could be useful to him in the future.

But first things first. "Damn right you're sorry. Now get off me," he said shoving at Gake's shoulder to roll him off to the side.

Gale rolled off of him, bemused and a little hurt, his lips pulling down into a frown. He lay on his back, still recovering from the intense orgasm and unsure of what would set Michael off next.

"Vayu wants to come out when you're here," he said apologetically. "I do not understand the reason for it. But I do not think you are in any danger."

Gale sat up as well, his eyebrows pinching together in confusion. "I'm sorry, I...do not understand why you are angry at me. I thought it was because Vayu was not careful with you the last time. It is...it must not have been comfortable."

It was rare for Gale to struggle for words, but he was struggling now. Michael perplexed him so thoroughly that he didn't know what to say.

Not comfortable? Michael snorted and rolled his eyes. Like a little pain ever killed anyone. Considering what Michael did for a living, what he was made to do, like hell he would freak out just from a little pain.

Unfortunately for Gale though, Michael wasn't exactly about to share the real reason for why he freaked out so badly last time. So he looked away and glared off into the distance in silence.

Gale was also able to bear a great deal of pain, but he had thought he'd hit on the truth when he felt Michael stretching him and realized that he hadn't done that for him the last time.

"Whatever I have done...I apologize," he said after a long silence in which he waited for Michael to say something. "However, if you do not tell me what it is, I cannot promise not to repeat the mistake."

Stupid Gale and his fucking logic. But even still, it did nothing more than piss Michael off even more. It felt like he was being pitied or something. Fuck that. "I don't want your fucking promise or some bullshit apology. I--" He inhaled sharply, as though stopping himself from saying something incriminating, before continuing. "Don't want to talk about it. Change the subject."

Gale was silent for a few moments. "Your reaction suggests that you are concerned about telling me the truth," he said, pushing invisible glasses up his nose in an automatic, unconscious gesture. "Whatever it is, I am certain my reaction will not be negative."

Michael growled. "What part of 'change the subject' did you not understand?" he snarled, reaching for Gale's throat with his free hand. The more Gale opened his mouth, the more punching him out seemed like a really good idea.

Gale's hand came up as fast as Michael's reflexively, and caught his wrist before he could grab his throat. He blinked in surprise. "Very well, we can change the subject," he said, as calm as ever, but even more perplexed by Michael's illogical behaviour. "We must determine how to explain your presence to the rest of the Embryon. Heat may wish to devour you."
