Well. Weirder shit had happened.

After picking Michel up, Michael had world hopped them back to Earth. He didn't take them to any of the large cities - it would be all to easy for something to go wrong and for him to get caught - but instead took him to the same place Nena had dragged him shopping in California. It had seemed safe enough.

Michael pushed his way into the mall, figuring Michel wouldn't be too far behind]

[Michael pops the last bite of his burger in his mouth and actually remembers to chew and swallow before speaking.] Nope, all this perfection is just me, man. [Wish you'd stop saying that, Michel. You're making Michael twitchy.]

[Well, it's weird seeing as how Michael is the only guy with... what looks like natural blue hair. But then again, Michel doesn't look that normal in comparison to the people of Michael's world so he hasn't mentioned it.]

[Michel's kind of surprised by Michael's sudden concern. Although he finds it a little amusing] What? No, I'm fine. [He starts to take a bite from his burger, showing Michael that he's honestly not put off by anything]

[Michael puts down (what's left of) his burger to start on his onion rings.] There's a massive arcade around here. I figured we could check it out since I haven't been there yet.

[Reaches for his drink again] And then I can kick your ass at everything.

[Michael's grin widens as he shoves his chair back and stands up. One of the teenagers behind him turns and glares but Michael doesn't even notice] Then you won't mind us starting on the piloting games, right?

[He heads out of the food court, leading the way towards the arcade]

[Michael laughs, forgetting for a second that HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE UNDERCOVER DIPSHIT] Good. So no crying when I kick you ass, right?

[He leads them further into the mall, taking the escalator up to the next floor before arriving at the arcade.]

Maybe we should make this an official competition. [Wow, alright. Arcade games. Since there in American territory, he points to the Flag Fighter simulator] It's cheating if you've learned how to fly one of those at University.

Fine by me. [Michael's already heading towards it.] I won't need to cheat to win. Don't worry, I've never flown on one of these before in my life.

[The game's set up like the inside of a cockpit and the seats move in time to the movements on screen. Michael inserts credits into the machine and climbs into one of the seats.]

[Michel enter the cockpit adjacent to Michael's. Even though the controls are different to what he's used to, it's obviously been simplified for kids so he's quick to figure out what does what.]

Best two out of three? What do you want to give me when you lose?

You're obviously confused, Michel. [His fingers fly over the keys as he chooses which mission to do and which terrain to fly over.

The object of the game is to complete the mission and destroy the most enemies. The winner is the one with the most points.]

I think the confused one here is you, Michael. [When the game begins, Michel is quick to explore the terrain. He takes out an easy enemy before switching the Flag into its mobile suit mode. Then like the sniper he is, he waits for two other enemies to approach before destroying them from afar.]

[Michael's approach to the game is slightly different. He's in mobiles suit mode as soon as he's able, and with the plasma sword he closes in on his enemies and dispatches them easily. He mourns the loss of his fangs, but the game has been ridiculously easy thus far so it shouldn't be a problem.

He laughs when he notices what Michel's doing.] I should have known.

You'd be lucky to have me in battle. [This game is amusingly simplistic. Michel manages to shoot down an aerial unit before moving on to the enemy base. Before he can get to it though, he receives a red alert telling him a large enemy is fast approaching.]

... Gundam?

Well. You're alright for a sni-- [Both Michael's eyebrows shoot up at that] They actually put Gundams in this thing?

[He's about to head on over to Michel's position when he gets his own alert.] We get two of them? This should be fun.

Sounds like the party's finally starting. [Soon as he says that, he gets shot in the back. The simulator rocks forward to imitate the feel. Michel tries to find the cause but he he doesn't see anything in his field of vision.]

Where the hell--? [Before he gets hit again, he quickly moves out of the way then dashes into the air. He takes this as an opportunity to carefully survey the terrain. Wow, this game got fun fast.]

I think this game is trying to play fire with fire. [Or sniper with sniper]

[Michael grins privately to himself. Michel, meet Lockon.] Better show it who's boss then.

[His Gundam approaches him pretty quickly, and Michael scowls to find it's fucking Exia. He dodges the first three attacks, but gets hit by the fourth and is sent flying.] Okay, now it's personal.

[Even though it's just a kid's game, Michel realizes he needs to utilize some kind of tactic in order to win. So he takes another hit, careful to notice where the shots are coming from. Using the flag's agility and the Gundam's lack thereof to his advantage, he zooms across the terrain towards it. He takes his chance and shoots. To his surprise, however, the attack only does minimal damage.]

You have got to be kidding. [Before he gets hit again, he quickly finds a place to shield himself from the Dynames attack]

Phew. You doing better, Michael?
